Shark Type Mermaid

in my head mermaid don't mate with each other, because despite their physique their all male. their tale shape and coloration depends entirely on the creature they mated with. live births because they are probably ditched the minute mommy gets a good look at them. they will mate with anything that enters the water or within arms length of it....or whatever nasty bastards.
